Syan provides a flexible, scalable and high-quality ASP-style messaging and collaboration service, hosted from our Telford data centre. All hardware, software and infrastructure is owned, maintained and supported by Syan. The service is priced on a sliding per-user price payable on a month-by-month basis. Customers are provided with the latest high-specification messaging system on a low-cost, low-risk basis with no need to purchase or support an expensive or complex solution.

What is Lotus Workplace?
Lotus Workplace is the new collaboration and messaging platform from IBM, taking the best aspects of Lotus Notes and Domino (email, collaboration, instant messaging, team workplaces, workflow, etc.) and implementing them on a best-of-breed, open-standards-based platform using WebSphere, portal, DB2 and LDAP building blocks.

It is designed as a flexible low-cost system, offering a high-quality messaging service to browser-based clients, including offline support and client platform choice (Windows, Linux and Apple Macintosh). In addition, IBM has announced the Workplace Rich Client edition - a very low cost, extensible client, easily provisioned from the Workplace server, and requiring no deskside support/reboots, etc.
